Cattle Drives

A fun filled day of western tradition and adventure! Arrive at the ranch at 9:00am or 2:00pm for a short lesson on the art of handling cattle and a riding lesson before taking to the hills to gather and drive a herd of Texas Longhorns. Your group will drive the herd about 3 - 4 miles with the Gore Range and Williams Fork Mountains for backdrops. If riding is not for everyone, follow or lead the herd in a covered wagon pulled by draft horses. A hearty meal will be served at the ranch after your drive. Team penning is the fastest growing event in rodeo. It's a challenge to all riders of all skill levels, and speed doesn't prevail over teamwork and brains. Team penning requires the participants to work together and communicate while on the move.

This activity involves 3 - 3 1/2 hours of riding.

Our "Rent a Ranch" may be just the thing for your group. Riders of all abilities can participate. It's great to see the more inexperienced riders gain confidence in their selves and their horses, doing things they never thought possible just an hour ago!
